The chefs responsible for the feast Now on to dessert. ![]() If you like ulams and local salads then this is the section for you! A huge choice of local vege cooked in traditional Malay style I have never seen so many lovely curries in one place ever! Try their Prawn Curry! If you like fried stuff (eat in moderation please) you’ll be happy to know that there’s an entire counter dedicated to it – fried chicken, fried prawns, fried quail, etc. OK time to put the knife down… The roast lamb was a very popular choice among the diners there that night. I had not had naan for quite some time so I had one with some spicy lamb kofta and chircken curry! A good spread of Indian dishes A must have – chicken and beef satay! My partner trying to play chef. ![]() Pictured here is a nice bubur lambuk to start of my mains! (my partner would say “Tim you eat pretty much anything”) There were a lot of mains to choose from – Malay, a bit of Chinese and a decent Indian food counter. I had my oysters with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tabasco sauce! Trust Andy Kho to always be the photographer and arrange his food nicely before shooting! A lot of people actually don’t know this but I actually like and know how to eat Malay food. There were all sorts of curries and rendang such as the Rendang Daging, and Udang Masak Rendang Kerisik and you can match it with either briyani rice or white rice or just have it on it’s own! A Japanese sushi and sashimi bar with so many different condiments! My fav was the edamame! Fresh oysters and prawns with a variety of sauces. I opted for the pumpkin soup which was creamy and flavourful and had it with the fluffy little buns with sambal inside! Talk about a contrast of flavours in one mouthful! The chicken curry was tender and thick! Check out the pots behind it. The number of dishes available is really quite amazing! A nice warm soup to start off the meal. The theme this year is “Rasa Rasa Ala Kampung” and the spread of traditional Malay dishes and desserts is absolutely amazing! Andy and I were still reviewing our Panasonic Lumix cameras thus he was using the newly launched top of the line Lumix G6 while I was using the smaller but still capable Lumix GX1 (you can tell them apart below by looking at the quality of the photos). The buffet features a wide array of delectable dishes from the buffet spread that you can enjoy while being entertained by a live performance by the Ghazal band. The buka puasa buffet at the Grand Millennium is in it’s coffeehouse The Mill Café and runs from 9 July to 7 August 2013. This time round I headed over to the Grand Millennium Hotel in KL which is centrally located along the shopping district of Bukit Bintang and is literally right beside Pavilion KL. I’m really happy to live in Malaysia (apart from the political situation of which I think could be a whole lot better) as we get to enjoy Malay, Chinese, Indian and loads more traditional food. I really like the puasa month each year because I get to eat Malay food. ![]()
